Abstract | ||||
Glutinol (3β-hydroxyglutin-5-ene), friedelinol, β-sitosterol. α-amyrin, 6-β -hydroxy stigmast-4-en-3-one, 6-β –hydroxy stigmast-4, 22-dien-3-one and β-sitosterol-3-O-glucoside were isolated for the first time from the methanolic extract of the leaves of Ficus benjamina (Moraceae) cultivated in Egypt. Identification of these compounds has been established by physical and spectral data (UV, IR, MS, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR, DEPT, HMQC, HMBC) as well as by comparison with authentic samples. Antifungal and antimicrobial activities were carried out and significant results were obtained. | ||||
