Abstract | ||||
The theme of this study aims to discuss an unpublished sarcophagus is discovered in the site located at 8 Al Karmeli Street of Sidi Gabir area in Alexandria Governorate, which is kept in the archaeological area known as Mustafa Kamel Necropolis situated in El-Moaskar El-Romani Street, Alexandria, Egypt. By studying and researching, some questions and difficulties arose and therefore needed to be addressed; the questions such as: Are there any inscriptions on this sarcophagus? Is this a royal or non-royal sarcophagus? To what era does this sarcophagus date from? The difficulties such as: inside the sarcophagus, three human mummies were found in the case of complete ossification, however there is neither a royal name, nor yet a cartouche! Moreover, there are no official, not even an informal surnames! So it is very difficult to suggest a logical and accurate dating for this sarcophagus, this in addition to the sarcophagus was submerged with a large amount of yellowish-red liquid. This study will be disclosed through the investigation, discussion, analysis, which can be addressed through a detailed examination of the elements or structure of the study content, typically as a basis for discussion or interpretation. | ||||
