| Abstract | ||||
| The main aim of our research is to bridge the relationship between Pragmatics and the old Arabic narratives which will allow us to re-read heritage texts with a modern conceptualization. It will also enable us to go beyond the special signs in "RISALAT AS-SAHIL WA CHAHIJ" to capture the general significance of the whole Arab culture. In fact, a shallow reading of "RISALAT AS-SAHIL WA CHAHIJ" uncovers a speech of politeness, honoring, and glorification. However, a depth study reveals an underlying speech, that criticizes both politicians and writers, in the form of a story narrated by animals. To reach our purpose, we suggest two sections: the first simplifies the methodological framework adopted. It also shows the relationship between pragmatic and narrative discourse analysis. In the last section, we will try to unveil "RISALAT AS-SAHIL WA CHAHIJ"’s implied discourse and its objectives in relation to speech contexts. | ||||
