| Abstract | ||||
| The Bremner - Rhind Papyrus contains a collection of magical sayings and religious recitations against the evil demon Apophis, who wants to prevent the mythical sun chariot of the god Re from sunrise. The text about the "evil" Aphopis has been proven to come from the Ptolemaic period (304 BC - 30 BC) and presumably even has its deeper roots in the Ramesside period d. H. the 19th and 20th dynasties from 1291 BC BC - 1076/1070 BC Chr. Such a confrontation with an "evil" demon is also told in many European fairy tales. This way of dealing with “evil” is also the theme of the children's and household fairy tales collected by the “Brothers Grimm”. The aim of this work is to make the interculturality of Egyptian mythology or Aphopis, on the basis of the new translation of the Bremner-Rhind Papyrus or on the basis of corresponding quotations from it, evident. | ||||
