Abstract | ||||
The removal of toxic bromothymol blue (BTB) dye is a component of silk dye which is often used as a pH measurement by using poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) adsorbent as a synthetic polymer and has several other advantages including high biocompatibility, biodegradability, hydrophilicity, and ability to form fiber capable of holding large amounts of water and/or biological solution has been investigated spectrophotometrically. Variables such as contact time, initial dye concentration, adsorbent dose and temperature of dye solution were studied. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models were used to illustrate the equilibrium of the adsorption. The correlation coefficient values of Langmuir and Freundlich equations were found to be in good agreement. A pseudo-First and -second-order mechanism governs the absorption of BTB onto PVA. A non-spontaneous and exothermic process, adsorption was non-spontaneous process. In addition, the thermodynamic parameters have been analyzed, and an appropriate reaction mechanism has been presented and discussed in this paper. | ||||
