Abstract | ||||
One of man's unique assets is language. It serves as a communication method. A revision of the notion of communicative competence to include the notion of intercultural competence has also been triggered by the notion of English as a foreign language. It shifts the emphasis on learning how to comunicate in cross-cultural environments, where native-speaker communication expectations might not be a priority. At the same time, it is now recognised that oral interaction models in classroom materials should not necessarily be based on textbook writers' intuitions, but should be guided by conversational research results and the analysis of actual speech analysis | ||||
