Abstract | ||||
The basic idea of the consumer finance law is to put in place mechanisms for sale by installments and it is not a business but financially, so the law subjected companies licensed to practice consumer finance activities that carry out this type of financing to Financial Regulatory Authority and to submit their papers, books and ownership structure to control. Consumer finance is an economic activity concerned with managing cash liquidity by a financial institution licensed by the Financial Regulatory Authority to cover the expenses of owning and buying consumer goods by granting credit in the form of a short and medium term cash loan. The Egyptian legislator has defined consumer finance - according to the new Law No. 18 of 2020 - as: Every activity that aims to provide financing for the purchase of goods and services for consumer purposes, whenever practiced on a regular basis, and includes financing through commercial payment cards or any of the payment methods approved by the bank Central. Key words: Finance, installment sales, depreciation, consumer goods, Financial Regulatory Authority. | ||||
