Abstract
The obgective of this study is to analyize the economics
of producing Sugar Beet in the new lands at EI Fayoum
governorate. The estimated production and costs functi ns
show decreasing returns to scale that since the aggreg~te
elasticities for inputsislessthanzz one (.97) The study shows that
the variable and total costs is LE 891.2, 1103.2 per feddan
respectively . In addition, the study shows that the gross margin
is LE 397.64 Per feddan , total revenue correlated to productivity
of 13.83 tons per feddan is about LE 1288.84 , the production
optimum size is 13.95 tons per feddan ,while the size which
maximizes profit is 18.96 tons per feddan .
