Abstract | ||||
This work was conducted to study the effect of seven diffe ent media treatments. i.e .• peatmoss. sand, composted olive cake, mixture of (peatmoss+ sand, peatmoss + composted olive cake, sand + composted olive cake and ~eatmoss + sand + composted olive cake) on !he vegetative and root growth and some chemical constituents of nurslings for Acalypha wilkes/ana, BougainVillea glabra ~nd Nerium oleander ornamental shrubs under North Sinai conditions at the Experime ta' Fann , Fae. of Enllironmental Agric. Sci. EI-Arish Suel Canal Univ. during 2000 -2001 and 2001 - 2002 seasons. The obtained results indicated that using composted olive cake alone or combined with peatmoss (1 :1-v. v.) as a raiSing media for the production of Acalypha wilkes/ana, Bougainvillea glabra and Nerium oleander nurslings proved a good efficiency conceming the vegetative growth (shoots, root and nurslings fresh and dry weights) and height than using mixtures pealmoss + sand, cornposted olive cake + sand (1:1 . v.v) and peatmoss or sand (each alone). Also, using composted olive cake alone resulted in high percentages of NPK and total carbohydrates in the leaves of these nurslings. | ||||
