Abstract | ||||
Cotton was an important cash and expc!rt crop in form sector and considered the major row material to the spinning wearing and ready made garment industries. This research aim to study the most important factors affecting the Egyptian cotton sector in terms of domestic cotton production productivity, cotton area production costs, farm prices, net revenue, exports and the effect of industrial fiber consumption during the period (80 - 2001). The results showed that there was annually decrease in the area, production and exports by 24 - 68 thousand feddan, 142.62 thousand kentar and 8.02 thousand tons. The results pointed annual increase in the farm price, total costs net revenue by 23.2 l.E., 70.4 l.E. and the 69.2 L.E. respectively. The most Important factors affecting cotton export were the productivity, export price, world consumption. The increase in synthetic tiber consumption lead to increase in cotton consumption. | ||||
