Abstract | ||
This study aims at measuring the effects of Bio - technology on Wheat production which represents a great importance to Egyptian Economy The analysis was based on descriptive and quantitative economics and statistical analysis. Primary data were collected by a random sample of 120 farmers through producing traditional and new varieties of wheat In the new lands and Nile valley in Beheira Govemorate, also, through secondary data for the period 1994·2003. The results showed that there is a significant difference between/the productivity of the new and traditional varieties. These findings indicate that the adoption of gemmaza 7 in Upper Egypt. gemmaza9,and penisuefi. in the Middle Egypt, seds7, and peni suefi in lower Egypt, gemmeza 9, and penisusfi in the new land and gemmaza 7 i outside Nile valley may cause an increase in wheat production by about. 8 million tons. Thus, It was recommended that the above combinations of varieties should be cultivated in the respective areas. | ||
