Abstract | ||||
Iron(III) formed a 1:1 complex with desferrioxamine ( 30-amino-3,14,25-trihydroxy -3,9,14,20,25 - penta — azatricontance - 2,10,13,21,24 - pentaone methane sulphonate ) at pH 5, 7 and 9 with apparent stability constants of 4.4x105, 3.5x105 and 1.8x10 respectively. The complex formed showed stability with time. Amine groups may account for coordination as indicated through IR investigation. Gamma irradiation of formed complex caused its degradation by different amounts at different pH values. Irradiated complex showed no great degradation on standing. | ||||
