Abstract | ||
SUMMARY Milk samples from 120 Russian Merino (Precos) and 30 Romanov sheep were analyzed by polyacrilamide gel electrophoresis under acid conditions to study the Genetic polymorphism of -lactoglobulin (-Lg) in two Russian sheep breeds. Five different -Lg phenotypes (A, B, AB, AC and BC) were observed in Precos breed milk, but only three phenotypes were found in Romanov breed milk (A, B and AB). Differences in gene frequencies between flocks were observed. The gene frequencies of -Lg were: A: 0.617, B: 0.36, C: 0.016 in Precos breed milk and A: 0.600, B: 0.400 in Romanov breed milk. | ||
