| The article examines the role of Prince Kurunta, the son of King Muwattalli II, in the problem of throne's succession of Hittite, during the period between 1272-1227 BC, since the death of King Muwattalli II in 1272 BC, until the middle of the reign of King Tudkhaliya IV in 1227 BC, it was a problem of throne's succession of the most important reasons that led to the fall of the Kingdom of Hittites. Therefore, the article display the roots of this problem since the early Old Kingdom; until the king Telipinu issued the proclamation to put an end to the chaos in the Kingdom, it continued 200 years later until the death of King Muwattalli II without leaving a legitimate heir, the problem was renewed once again between " Urḫi-Teššub" and " Ḫattusili III". Kurunta had an influential role in supporting his uncle "Ḫattusili III". He also played an important role during the reign of Tudkhaliya IV, which led to widespread controversy among scholars, especially with regard to hold the title "the great king", that title was held exclusively by the kings of the Hittites. Therefore, the questions raised by his held for this title were discussed: Did he carry this title after his coup against Tudkhaliya IV or a privilege obtained according to specific circumstances? What are the relations between Hatti and Tarhuntassa after that? يستعرض البحث دور الأمير" کورونتا" ابن الملک "مواتللي الثاني"، في مشکلة وراثة العرش الحيثي، خلال الفترة ما بين 1272- 1227 ق.م، أي منذ وفاة الملک مواتللي الثاني عام 1272 ق.م، حتى منتصف عهد الملک تودخاليا الرابع عام 1227 ق.م، إذ کانت مشکلة وراثة العرش من أهم الأسباب التي أدت إلى إنهيار المملکة الحيثية، لذلک تناول البحث لمحة عن جذور تلک المشکلة منذ عصر الدولة القديمة للمملکة الحيثية، إلى أن أصدر الملک "تليبينو" مرسومًا ليضع به حدًا للفوضى التي کانت سائدة في المملکة من أجل الوصول إلى العرش، واستمر بعد ذلک بمائتي عام حتى وفاة الملک مواتللي الثاني دون أن يترک وريثًا شرعًيا، ومن ثم تجددت المشکلة مرة أخرى بين "أورخي تيشوب" و"خاتوشيلي الثالث". في تلک المرحلة ظهر کورنتا کأحد الأطراف المؤيدة والمرجحة لکفة أحد طرفي النزاع، فکان له دورًا مؤثرًا خلال عهود الملوک "أورخي تيشوب"، و"خاتوشيلي الثالث"، و"تودخاليا الرابع"، فتباين دوره بين مؤيد لعمه خاتوشيلي الثالث على حساب أخيه أورخي تيشوب، ومدعمًا لابن عمه تودخاليا الرابع في بداية عهده، ولکن في منتصف عهد تودخاليا عام 1227 ق.م يحدث تحولات کبيرة في دور کورونتا؛ أدت إلى جدل واسع ومناقشات متباينة حول شخصيته ودوره خلال منتصف عهد تودخاليا الرابع، لاسيما فيما يتعلق بحمله لقب "الملک العظيم"، ذلک اللقب الذي کان يحمله ملوک الحيثيين بشکل حصري، ولهذا تمت مناقشة التساؤلات التي فرضها حمله لهذا اللقب: هل حمل هذا اللقب بعد انقلابه على تودخاليا الرابع أم کان امتيازًا حصل عليه وفقًا لظروف محددة؟ وما هي طبيعة العلاقات بين خاتي وتورخونتاشا بعد ذلک؟ | ||||
