Abstract | ||||
In this paper, the mixture of two Inverse Gaussian distributions (MIG) is considered. The approach of the study presents a procedure for answering the question of whether MIG is unimodal or not. We show that MIG is bimodal in certain cases, otherwise it is unimodal. Some conditions under which MIG is either unimodal or bimodal are discussed. A simple iterative formula is given, which always converges, for finding the modes. | ||||
