Abstract | ||||
The integration of magnetic and gravity data interpretation is a crucial technique for subsurface structural imaging of the Gebel Miswag area which situated in the northern portion of the Western Desert, Egypt. The main intention of the research is to identify geological subsurface structures, identify effective trends, and detect depth to the basement surface under the study region. To achieve this purpose, several advanced techniques have been carried out to analyze both gravity and magnetic such as power spectrum analysis, the tilt angle derivatives, and the total horizontal derivative to determine the structural features that are influencing the region. However, the Euler solution technique of magnetic and gravity data successfully helped to determine the basement surface configuration. Main outcome results confirmed that the area is structurally affected by three principal trends; NW-SE, E-W, and ENE-WSW. The depth to basement has been determined using different approaches; that reveal the depth ranging generally from 1200 meters in the southern region exceeding 4000 meters in the northern region and showing an irregular surface forming some basins and sub-basins. | ||||
