Abstract | ||||
Technology is invading the world. It changes what we are used to doing into a digital format. This transition influences the hospitality industry, leading to changes in its requirements, particularly the skills required for employment. These changes have been understood as generic, but over time they have been recognized at the departmental level as well, which has to be addressed when designing higher education curricula to help graduates smoothly apply for hotel jobs. The research aims to identify the skills most required, as well as the minimum level of skills needed to create employable graduates. The research findings indicate that soft skills and personal attitudes play a crucial role when recruiting entry-level employees. Also, it revealed deficiencies in graduates' skills, such as technical skills, numeracy, planning, and organizing skills. Therefore, the researchers recommended collaboration between higher education and the hospitality industry to redesign hotel curricula based on recent industry requirements. | ||||
