| Abstract | ||||
| The Corona pandemic is an epidemic that has swept the entire world and gained the attention of local and international public opinion. This study aimed to identify the extent of the public’s reliance on the media from which it obtains information about the Covid-19 pandemic, and which of them is characterized by credibility, speed of coverage, and the degree of public confidence in covering developments in the Corona pandemic. Trust in traditional media or social networking sites and new media, as well as the comparison between traditional and modern media. The study is considered one of the descriptive studies that used the survey method and questionnaire tool on a sample of 445 individuals, with a diversity of gender, income, and educational level. The study relied on the theory of reliance on media. One of the most prominent results was that 63% of the sample obtained information about the pandemic from social media sites, while the percentage of public preference for traditional media was 22.9%. Regarding the credibility of the media, 48.6% confirmed that new media and social media sites are more reliable, and that social media sites and new media are more reliable. 80% faster intake As for the public’s preferences for new media and the communication sites on which they rely, Facebook ranked first with a percentage of 65.7% | ||||
