Abstract | ||||
This study explored the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the writing skills of Saudi university students learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study focused on a group of 20 advanced learners. The participants received their writing lessons utilizing software equipped with AI capabilities, specifically employing Grammarly. To gain insights into the participants' perspectives regarding the utilization of Grammarly, for enhancing their writing proficiency, a questionnaire was administered to capture their views and opinions on the potential of AI to revitalize and invigorate English writing proficiency. Additionally, to gather extensive and qualitative data, in-depth interviews were conducted with the participants. The findings revealed a strong positive perception among participants regarding Grammarly's potential to elevate their writing proficiency. The study further highlighted the specific advantages of Grammarly and its role in boosting student motivation within the writing classroom. These results offer compelling evidence for the integration of AI tools like Grammarly into EFL pedagogy, particularly for advanced learners. Additionally, the study paves the way for further exploration of AI's role in language education. | ||||
