Abstract | ||||
Two petrophysical models were utilized to detect the dynamic and physical properties of the Nubia Sandstone reservoir of East Zeit, Hilal and Shoab Ali oilfields, Southern Gulf of Suez, Egypt. These models are based on the velocity – deviation log and velocity ratio. The first model provides a good indication about permeability trends, pores type and post – depositional diagenesis. The second model determines the rock physical properties of the reservoir; such as lithology indication, degree of consolidation and prediction of velocity. Both models revealed that, the Nubia Sandstone could be classified into two rock types. One is along the central axis of the Gulf of Suez at East Zeit and Hilal oilfields and the other at the eastern side of the Gulf of Suez at Shoab Ali oilfield. The central basin sediments are characterized by low velocity ratio, low clay content, moderate porosity and low Poisson’s ratio. The marginal basin sediments are characterized by relative high velocity ratio, porosity, clay content and Poisson ratio. | ||||
