| Abstract | ||||
| This study aimed to identify the reality of Big Data Management in information institutions, monitor its challenges, and measure the extent of its environmental readiness to implement Big Data tools and techniques with the proposal of requirements and standards for their application in these institutions. The study employed a field research approach to examine the actual situation of the study sample, which included (the Bibliotheca Alexandrine, The National Library and Archives, the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center, the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Universities) drawing on some tools, the most important of which is the preparation of a checklist as a primary tool for data collection, a quad SWOT analysis was conducted to analyse the current status of the institutions. The study yielded numerous results, most notably the variation in the reality of Big data management and the readiness of its environment and technological structure among the study sample. The Bibliotheca Alexandrine has already entered the era of Big Data, where the validity of its environment to manage Big Data reached 88% when the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center achieved 74%, and the General Authority for National Library and Archives reached 30%.
