Abstract | ||||
The research aimed to develop awareness of radiation hazards among students of the Physics Department at the Faculty of Education at Upper Nile University through a proposed unit in radiation physics. The research was conducted on a group of (44) students, who were divided into two groups, the first experimental group on which the proposed unit was applied, and the second control group. The researchers used two instruments: the information test for the radiation physics unit, and the scale of attitudes towards reducing the risks of radioactive pollution. The research found that there was a statistically significant difference in both the information test for the radiation physics unit, and the scale of attitudes towards reducing the risks of radioactive pollution between the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group in the post-application. The size of the impact of the proposed unit on the experimental group was large. The research recommended the necessity of employing modern teaching strategy technology and modern teaching methods in the field of radiation physics and the risks of radioactive pollution to increase environmental awareness of environmental issues and problems in all science departments at Upper Nile University and Juba University, as well as benefiting from the application of the proposed unit. | ||||
