Abstract | ||||
Wedding tourism has been rapidly evolving and gaining popularity among young couples, becoming a significant emerging market that destinations wish to target. Meanwhile, Egypt is endowed with a wide range of resources that would make it an ideal wedding destination. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the potential of wedding tourism in the Egyptian destination, with the application on Sharm el-Sheikh city, so that Egypt would increase its market share of wedding tourism using the qualitative method with the exploratory research approach. In-depth interviews were conducted with managers and officials in four-star plus and five-star hotels in Sharm el-Sheikh. Study findings includes that Sharm el-Sheikh has great opportunities and points of strengths that would make it a leading wedding destination, and some weakness that would be addressed. Further, the study recommends that increasing the promotional activities would undoubtedly make Sharm el-Sheikh a brand wedding destination. | ||||
