Abstract | ||||
This paper examines the importance of integrating sustainability concepts into the educational system to address the environmental, economic, and social challenges facing the world today. Sustainability in education is an essential part of achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as education can play a pivotal role in empowering future generations to address these challenges in sustainable ways. The paper reviews the challenges facing the implementation of sustainability strategies in education systems, such as lack of funding, disparities in access to education, and lack of environmental awareness among students and communities. It also discusses ways in which these challenges can be overcome, with a focus on the role of technology, educational curricula, and government policies in promoting sustainable education. In addition, the paper reviews some successful global experiences in applying sustainable educational practices, such as the use of e-learning platforms, the development of environmentally friendly educational environments, and the strengthening of partnerships between educational institutions and civil society to achieve the sustainable development goals. | ||||
