Abstract | ||||
Aims: This study aims to develop and validate a questionnaire to analyze community and patients’ KAP regarding leishmaniasis in endemic area. Methods: This was a quantitative cross-sectional and validation study including a total of 700 participants; validity of questionnaire was assessed by, content validity, item validity and construct validity analyses. The reliability of the tool was evaluated by conducting a test–retest analysis. Results: Among 29 items, 4 items were excluded and 3 were revised during content validity stage using Content Validity Index. However, the verification of floor and ceiling effects removed 2 question leaving 23 items for further analysis. The KMO value was 0.73. Bartlett's test of sphericity confirmed the existence of significant relationships for KAP leishmaniasis instrument scale. Twenty-three items—nine under the knowledge construct, three under the attitudes construct, and eleven under the practice construct—were obtained. Cronbach's alpha for the scale overall was (0,735), and the value of the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of test retest was reasonable. Conclusion: This study has provided the first validated tool analyzing the KAP regarding leishmaniasis in Morocco. | ||||
