Abstract | ||||
Abstract : Background: Post burn scars are one of the widespread consequences that affect patients' quality of life after burn injury. Many treatments have been described to be effective in the management of post-burn scars. The current study intended to evaluate the efficacy of nanofat injection for post burn scar treatment. Methods: This study was prospective included 20 individuals with post-burn scars who were treated with nanofat injection. After three months, the assessment included clinical, histological, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) evaluations. Results: All scar showed statistically significant improvements clinically according to the Patient and Observer Scar Assessment Scale (POSAS). Histological and Immunohistochemical analysis revealed similar skin regeneration, improving in collagen density and arrangement, and increase in vessels density. Conclusion: This study found that nanofat improves clinical outcomes for post-burn scars. Nanofat is still inexpensive, autologous, safe, and potential as a single procedure for improving the aesthetic outcome of post burn scars. | ||||
