Abstract | ||||
Background: Congenital penile curvature is a rare congenital condition manifests as abnormal curvature of the erect penis, which can lead to micturition and psychological consequences during the childhood period, and sexual and psychological effects during adulthood. Congenital penile curvature can be a deviation in one direction or a mixture of two directions, resulting in penile torsion. Aim: In this study, we describe our experience in treating fourteen boys with congenital penile corporeal torsion without hypospadias using the modified corporeal plication procedure in an oblique manner. T Material and Methods: The deformity was evaluated intraoperatively using saline artificial erection before and after the plication procedure, with further assessment during the follow-up period by parent's visual inspection and video recording of their son's erected penis. Results: The results of the oblique corporeal plication were satisfactory in all cases except one, who had a partial recurrence. Penile corporeal torsion, which successfully corrected the penile curvature and realigned the axial rotation in 93% of cases without the risk associated with incision or excision techniques conclusions: The use of this oblique plication technique is recommended for the correction of penile corporeal two-directional curvature, whether it is completely corporeal deformity or residual corporeal deformity after releasing the cutaneous chordae in cases of combined corpora-cutaneous curvature. | ||||
