Abstract | ||
The dual wavelength method has gained significant attention in pharmaceutical analysis for its efficiency in simultaneous determination of multiple components in a mixture. The dual wavelength approach measures the drug of interest's absorbance values at two wavelengths where the absorbance values of any other medication in the mixture that overlaps with it are equal to zero. This review focuses on the application of the dual wavelength method in the quantitative analysis of two drugs in a mixture. The principles underlying the dual wavelength method, its advantages, challenges, and recent advancements are discussed. Various applications of the dual wavelength method in pharmaceutical analysis, including its use in quality control, pharmacokinetic studies, and formulation analysis, are highlighted. The method was used to determine mixtures as Simeprevir and Sofosbuvir and other mixtures. The method has many advantages such as Enhanced Specificity, Increased Accuracy, Improved Sensitivity and disadvantages such as complexity of calibration, instrumentation eequirements, eotential Interference, limited applicability. | ||
