Abstract | ||||
The study aims to explore the development of an artificial intelligence (AI) system in the Arab world in alignment with sustainable development goals. It examines the characteristics, applications, current status, indicators, and the level of readiness of countries in the region for AI. The study particularly focuses on future projections for AI in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates, as they are among the fastest-growing countries in AI development within the region. Key Findings Several Arab countries, notably Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the UAE, have advanced positions in the race for AI, aiming to strengthen their relationships and cooperation with leading countries and companies in the field of AI. A distinctive technological infrastructure is present in these countries, driven more by technical development than human factors. These countries have established research centers and universities dedicated to teaching AI (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and UAE). Future projections for some countries (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE) indicate the potential organization of AI systems in accordance with sustainable development goals, as well as an examination of associated risks. | ||||
