Abstract | ||||
Introduction: the paper provides a categorized overview of dental composite materials, conventional, machinable, and 3D-printed composites are discussed, emphasizing their role in modern dentistry. the selection of an appropriate composite material depends on factors such as the extent of the restoration, aesthetic requirements, and patient preferences. This case report also presents a patient with a carious lesion on the lower left first molar. given the size and location of the lesion, an indirect restoration was recommended with 3D-printed material. Materials & Methods: We used 3D-printed composite resin to restore badly decayed tooth n. 36, which was immediately sealed with universal adhesive and covered with flowable composite restoration. Impression was taken using conventional rubber base impression material, and then an extraoral scanner using a cerec machine. After that, 3D design was done with Exocad software design and 3D printed with a light cure system used to fabricate the composite high filler restoration. Results: After cementation of restoration evaluation was done using FDI criteria which is suitable for indirect restorations according to the final modification of FDI criteria in 2024 also evaluation after one week was done to follow up the performance and and reset to 6 months. | ||||
