Abstract | ||||
Cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease (CHD), heart failure, and hypertension, represent major global contributors to morbidity and mortality. CHD is primarily a pathological condition affecting the coronary vasculature, which can be exacerbated by thrombotic complications, potentially leading to acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Survivors of AMI are predisposed to an elevated risk of heart failure and sudden cardiac death due to ventricular arrhythmias. Additionally, persistent hypertension is a critical risk factor that can precipitate CHD, heart failure, and cerebrovascular events such as stroke. Given the multifactorial etiology of cardiovascular diseases, patients frequently require polypharmacological interventions targeting interconnected pathological pathways. This brief review provides a comprehensive overview of analytical methodologies employed for the quantification of key cardiovascular therapeutic agents, namely Rosuvastatin (ROS) and Losartan (LOS). The objective is to furnish researchers with up-to-date insights into advanced analytical techniques utilized for the determination of these pharmaceutical compounds, both as monotherapeutic agents and in combination with other cardiovascular drugs. Furthermore, this review encompasses fundamental physicochemical properties, pharmacological mechanisms of action, and therapeutic relevance of the cited agents. The compiled analytical approaches include pharmacopeial, chromatographic, spectrophotometric, and other advanced techniques, all validated in accordance with International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines. | ||||
