Abstract Aim: This study investigated the effects of immersion in two widely consumed acidic beverages (Coffee and Coca-Cola) on the color stability and surface roughness of multi-color hybrid ceramics. Methodology: Twenty-one specimens, each 1.5 mm thick, were prepared from hybrid ceramic (Vita Enamic Multi-color) CAD/CAM blocks. Three subgroups ((A) Coffee, (B) Coca-Cola and (C) Distilled Water as a Control) (n = 7 per group) were immersed in their corresponding beverage solutions for 28 days. Color and roughness were measured before and after immersion using a spectrophotometer and a profilometer, respectively. Results: Color analysis revealed a statistically significant difference between different groups. Group A exhibited the greatest color change (ΔE: 10.21 ± 0.29) followed by Group B (3.13 ± 0.18), while Group C showed the least (ΔE: 1.06 ± 0.10). Similarly, surface roughness varied significantly; Group A had the highest average roughness (0.2137 ± 0.0259) followed by Group C (0.2050 ± 0.0228), while Group B had the lowest roughness (0.1633 ± 0.0068). Conclusion: Immersion in coffee significantly discolored multicolor hybrid ceramics beyond a clinically acceptable threshold (ΔE > 3.3) and also led to a substantial increase in surface roughness. Conversely, immersion in Coca-Cola resulted in an unnoticeable color change and significantly decreased surface roughness. | ||||
