Abstract | ||||
One of the most widely spread congenital defects is cleft lip and palate ,cleft lip and palate can cause harmful effects on both infants and their parents For the infants it causes adverse effects on their nutrition , growth , normal appearance and psychological status although it impacts the parents negatively especially if they didn’t deal with similar previous cases before , they need any effort to reduce the burden of the case especially feeding Problems associated with feeding can lead to inadequate nutrition, which can affect the health of the newborn. Evaluating and addressing feeding difficulties as soon as possible is crucial in the care of cleft lip and palate, which involves a multidisciplinary team approach. Because it creates a barrier between the nasal and oral airways, a feeding device is an excellent option for these babies because it helps to create negative pressure in the mouth during breastfeeding. A feeding apparatus designed for a baby with a cleft lip and palate who was born four days ago is described in this case report. | ||||
