| Abstract | ||||
| Supply chain is one of the active application areas in operational research and management science. The success of a company depends on the efficiency of design, manufacture and product distribution in a network. The supply chain is designed to meet consumers’ requirements in an efficient and effective manner and as quickly as possible, one of the most important issues regarding the design of supply chain network is customer satisfaction, this satisfaction is regarded as the organizations’ ultimate goal. Therefore, it is required to improve quality inside the organization and also outside the organization covering both upstream and downstream supply chains and channels. For decades a significant number of quality management gurus have been associated with the development and advocacy of using the seven quality control (QC) tools in the organizations for problems solving and processes improvements. Seven old quality control tools and other QC tools such as Quality circles, brainstorming, benchmarking, and 5Ss were successfully used for improving the performance of supply chain processes, from the first step of procuring raw materials to the last stage of introducing final product / service to the consumers. But unfortunately the use of quality tools was minimized in the last decade especially in what are considered the non-added value departments in manufacturing organizations | ||||
