Abstract | ||||
Toxoplasma gondii is a worldwide zoonotic protozoan parasite of that infects species of warm-blo oded animals and birds, including humans. Infection can occur by ingestion of oocysts dropped from cats, ingestion of tissue cysts, Blood transfusion or organ transplants, and Transplacental transmission. Congenital toxoplasmosis is widely recognized public health problem due to the devastating results it can have on the unborn fetus including miscarriage, mental retardation, visual, and hearing problems. | ||||
