| Abstract | ||||
| Water resources are essential for sustaining life economic activities, and ecosystems, and Egypt, situated in an arid region, faces ongoing challenges related to water scarcity aggravated by climate change. The country primarily relies on the Nile River, which accounts for nearly 95% of its water needs. However, rising temperatures, irregular precipitation patterns, and rising sea levels threaten its freshwater resources. This paper explores how climate change affect water resources in Egypt, focusing on the vulnerability of the Nile River, groundwater depletion, and the impacts on agriculture, the largest water-consuming sector. It also addresses the socio-economic effects of water scarcity on local communities and national development. The study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the current water conservation strategies Egypt is implementing, assessing their effectiveness, and proposing potential improvements. تعتبر الموارد المائية أساسية لاستدامة الحياة والأنشطة الاقتصادية والنظم البيئية، وتواجه مصر، التي تقع في منطقة شبه قاحلة، تحديات مستمرة فيما يتعلق بندرة المياه، والتي تفاقمت بفعل التغير المناخي. يعتمد سكان مصر بشكل رئيسي على نهر النيل، الذي يشكل حوالي 95% من احتياجات البلاد من المياه. ومع ذلك، تهدد درجات الحرارة المرتفعة وأنماط الأمطار غير المنتظمة وارتفاع مستويات البحر الموارد المائية العذبة في البلاد. يستكشف هذا البحث كيف يؤثر التغير المناخي على الموارد المائية في مصر، مركزًا على تعرض نهر النيل، واستنزاف المياه الجوفية، وتأثير ذلك على الزراعة، أكبر مستهلك للمياه في البلاد. كما يتناول الآثار الاجتماعية والاقتصادية لندرة المياه على المجتمعات المحلية والتنمية الوطنية. يهدف البحث إلى تقديم تحليل شامل للاستراتيجيات الحالية التي تتبناها مصر لحفظ المياه، مع تقييم فعاليتها | ||||
