| Abstract | ||||
| the additive and dominance components determine the exploit method through pedigree to select the desirable genotypes in advanced generations of segregating populations. The experiment was conducted at the experimental farm of Rice Research center, Sakha, Kafre ElSheikh, Egypt, during 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons, to assess the genetic parameters included gene action type and genotypic correlation for yield components through triadic test cross analysis. The genetic materials included three testers; Giza 177 (P1), GSRIR2-9-L1-L3R2 (P2) and their F1 hybrid (Giza 177 X GSRIR2-9-L1-L3R2) , and fifteen promising lines were crossed to produce forty-five hybrid combinations through triadic test cross analysis. The results revealed that, highly significant differences in genotypes, hybrids, parents, lines and testers were noticed for the studied characters indicating presence of considerable variability among the genotypes. Giza 177 x GSRIR2-9-L1-L3R2 and MJ5460-4 x GSRIR2-9-L1-L3R2 recorded the desirable values for yield component traits. Total epistasis effects showed that both [i] and [j + l] type interactions were significant, with a prevalent influence of [j + l] type interactions on these traits except for grain yield trait, which exhibited a higher value of the [i] type. MJ5460-4 line was the greatest contributed significant portion to the total epistasis so, the additive and dominance effects have significantly equal importance for all the traits. Finally, all genetic parameters controlling inheritance most of characters under investigation so we can use breeding programs which depended on hybridization and selection as recurrent selection may be practical for developing high yielding rice lines in advanced generations | ||||
