| يتناول البحث مسار التحول من التسامح السلبي إلى التسامح الإيجابي من خلال استعراض تطور المفهوم تاريخيًا وثقافيًا، بدءًا من التجربة الأوروبية في ظل سيطرة الكنيسة ومحاكم التفتيش، وصولًا إلى التحولات الفكرية التي قادت إلى الفصل بين الدين والدولة وترسيخ قيم الديمقراطية وحرية المعتقد. ثم ينتقل إلى تناول مفهوم التسامح في الثقافة العربية، مبينًا تميزه بطابع المشاركة والكرم والتساهل، بوصفه قيمة متأصلة في اللغة والمجتمع. كما يناقش الإسلام كنموذج ديني يسهم في تكريس ثقافة التسامح عبر مبادئه الرافضة للإكراه، ومواقفه التاريخية التي أعلت من شأن التعددية الفكرية والدينية. ويسلط البحث الضوء على الإشكاليات التي واجهت المجتمعات الإسلامية في تطبيق هذا التسامح، حيث تكررت وقائع الاضطهاد الفكري والصراعات المذهبية بسبب تدخل السلطة السياسية وتوظيف الدين أداة للهيمنة. ويخلص إلى ضرورة تعزيز ثقافة التسامح الحقيقي بوصفها شرطًا أساسيًا لحرية الفكر ونهوض المجتمعات. This study examines the evolution from passive to active tolerance by tracing the historical and cultural development of the concept. It begins with the European experience under the dominance of the Catholic Church and the Inquisition, then moves through the Enlightenment and the establishment of democratic principles and freedom of belief. The study contrasts this with the Arab cultural perception of tolerance, which is deeply rooted in values of generosity, mutual respect, and shared responsibility. Islam is presented as a model promoting tolerance through its rejection of coercion and recognition of religious and intellectual plurality. However, the study also addresses the challenges within Islamic societies in realizing these ideals, highlighting instances of intellectual persecution and sectarian conflict driven by political manipulation of religion. The conclusion stresses the urgent need to foster genuine tolerance as a prerequisite for freedom of thought and societal advancement. | ||||
