Abstract | ||||
This study attempt to alleviate high temperature stress on sugar beet plants; accordingly, the experiment was administer in Upper Egypt, Kom Ombo, Aswan Governorate, which is situated between, latitude of 24o 05' 20" N, longitude of 32o 53' 59" E and the altitude is 85 m above sea level, during 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons by using some chemical compounds (salicylic acid, calcium chloride and potassium silicate) under three planting time (20th September, 20th October and 20th Novembe and investigate the effect of heat stress on physiological traits, quality and yield of sugar beet plants. Results showed that: Planting dates significantly affected most of the studied traits. Planting in November was the best for physiological traits; it gave the minimum stomatal closure% and proline content and the highest relative water content. For chemical compounds, Foliar application of potassium silicate at high level 2000 mgl-1had the first order, it recorded the highest top, root and sugar yield. Planting in October and spraying with K-silicate at level 2000 mgl-1 can be suggested to get the maximum values of sugar and root yields. | ||||
