Abstract | ||||
The purpose of this study was to establish the average content of heavy metals, including magnesium (Mg), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), lead (Pb), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), chromium (Cr), and iron (Fe), in numerous Egyptian juices, both fresh and canned. Samples of fruit juice were gathered from markets that were open to the public. Five distinct fruit juices, pomegranate and fresh cane juices, respectively. were bought from different supermarkets. A total of Forty-five fruit juice samples and forty-five nectar samples were analyzed. The results indicated that fresh cane juice contained the highest concentration of lead, exceeding the permissible limits,whereas the mean lead levels in canned juices were not indicated. The WHO has determined that 0.025 mg/kg of body weight is a provisionally acceptable weekly consumption of lead. Fresh pomegranate juice has the greatest concentration. The results indicated that canned guava juice has the highest content of Cr.,while the highest concentration of Mn was found in canned grape juice. On the other hand, The result represents that Both canned and fresh juices had a high concentration of Mg. Metal variability among juice samples can be attributed to the raw materials and water used to produce the juices, plant growth conditions such as harmful metal concentrations in the soil and irrigation water, environmental contamination (pesticides and fertilizers), added sugar purity, industrial processing, and container contamination. | ||||
