Abstract | ||||
Experimental infection of puppies and kittens with Sarcocystis dromicanis cysts revealed that, puppies were the definitive host, while kittens were refractory. The prepatent period ranged between 12-18 days, and the patent period was 29-49 days. Usually, single sporulated spororocysts were found in examined faeces of puppies and not continuously expelled daily during the patent period. The endogenous stages in puppies were described and were more prevalent in duodenum.
