Abstract | ||||
Three mice-dams were experimentally infected each with 1000 embryonated eggs of Toxocara canis during pregnancy, and other three mice-darns were infected with the same dose on the same day of parturition. The same treatment was given to another 6 mice-dams but infected with eggs of Toxascaris leonine. The uteri, placentae and foeti of the infected darns during pregnancy were examined for the prenatal infection. The suckling progenies and mammary glands of each dam were examined for the transmammary infection. Toxocara canis larvae were detected in uteri, foeti and placentae of the infected dams during pregnancy, and were absent in Toxascaris leonina infetion. In the same time, larvae of Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonine were detected in organs of sckling progenies and the mammary glands of their dams which indicated the transmammary infection of both parasites and the infection was transmitted from one generation to another. | ||||
