Abstract | ||||
The reliability function, using exponential life model, is estimated using empirical 'ayes technique. The prior dis-,:ribution which is not assumed known in the empirical Bayes 4pproach, is approximated by Maritz form [3]. The loss func-:ion suggested by Canfield [1] takes into account a bias :ontrol for overestimation in the loss. When symmetric loss is used it is shown that for large values the empirical Bayes estimator obtained is the minimum variance unbiased estimate of reliability. | ||||
