Abstract | ||||
Climatic circumstances are significant determinants in the formation and growth of the vine, as they profoundly influence the microclimate of the canopy, the development of the physio-chemical characteristics of the vine and the quality of the products. Due to variations in climatic parameters, the vine is faced with increasingly hot growing conditions. However, high temperature changes in phenology, ripening period and physicochemical characteristics are detrimental to the quality of the grapes produced and gradually decrease the yield. In this study, we focus on Flame Seedless and Crimson Seedless grape cultivars; It was carried out in three separate locations in Egypt between 2021 and 2022 to examine the phenology and heat units of grapes. The results demonstrated that thermal units affected the phenological stages of grape growth (bud break, full flowering, fruit set, veraison and grape maturity) and physicochemical characteristics. Therefore, it is advisable to implement measures to mitigate the impact of fluctuations in weather conditions. conditions, such as growing new cultivars and determining which cultivars would provide the highest yield, and mapping grape varieties into regions suited to their productivity. | ||||
