Abstract | ||||
Background: Authentic leadership is a pattern of leader behavior that refers to the positive psychological capacity and ethical climate, for self-awareness, internalization of moral values, and transparency of relationships between superiors and subordinates, which play direct role on the contentment with life as it is crucial in shaping an individual's quality of life. The study aimed to identify the contentment with life among staff nurses and the essential role of perceived authentic leadership. Research design: Descriptive correlational design was utilized to meet the aim of this study. Subject and setting: The sample consisted of 360 staff nurses who were invited to participate in the study. The study was conducted at Fayoum University Hospitals. Tools of data collection: Two tools were used for data collection namely; Contentment with life scale for nurses and perceived authentic leadership assessment tool. Results: Findings of the study indicates that a highly statistically significant correlation was observed among all dimensions of contentment with life and authentic leadership as perceived by staff nurses. Conclusion: There was a highly statistically significant correlation was observed between contentment with life and authentic leadership as perceived by staff nurses. Recommendation: Staff nurse's continuous professional growth by attending workshops through fostering in-service training program related to contentment with life and authentic leadership. | ||||
