Abstract | ||||
This This research aimed to identify the extension activities and services provided by agricultural extension to potato crop farmers and the degree of utilization. and to identify the sources of information from which farmers obtain extension recommendations for the potato crop. as well as to identify the level and degree of influence of each of the determinants affecting the production of potato crop. and to determine the correlation between the degree of presence of the determinants and their influence on the productivity of the potato crop per acre. This research was conducted in Beheira Governorate on a random sample of potato crop growers with a size of 220 respondents and the data was collected during September until November 2024. and the data was analyzed using tabular presentation with frequencies. percentages. arithmetic mean. weighted mean. and simple correlation coefficient (Pearson). and the most important results were as follows: - The extension service for implementing field visits to follow up the implementation of technical recommendations ranked first for the extension activities provided by the extension system. with a weighted average of 1.6 points out of a maximum of 3 points. - The most important sources of information from which the respondents derive extension recommendations for the potato crop were the agricultural production input dealers. family. relatives and friends with a weighted average of 2.3. followed by the Misr Agricultural Channel with a weighted average of 2.1 out of a maximum of 3 degrees. - The most influential determinants of production were the determinants of land preparation. with a weighted average of 2.91 out of a maximum of three. - The results also showed that the level of the presence of determinants on the production and marketing of potato crops is moderate to strong from the respondents' point of view. - The respondents agreed that the presence of these determinants has a strong influence on the productivity of the potato crop. - The results also showed that there is a significant correlation between the degree of the presence of the different determinants and their impact on productivity. | ||||
