Abstract | ||||
Background: Visual color perception may play a more important role in maintaining quality of work life and can develop a commitment scene. Semiotics influence behavior and colors have semiotic significance. Aim: To assess the relationship between quality of work-life and organizational commitment: The mediating role for nurses’ perception of workplace colors. Design: A descriptive correlational research design. Setting: General Medical and Surgical Departments at Sohag University Hospital. Study subjects: A convenient sampling technique included (101) nurses were included. Tools: Four tools were used: A personal data sheet, a nurses’ quality of work-life scale, an organizational commitment questionnaire, and a nurses’ perception of workplace colors questionnaire. Results: There was an average level of nurses’ quality of work-life; organizational commitment, and nurses’ perception of workplace colors. There is a highly statistically significant positive correlation between nurses' quality of work-life, organizational commitment, and nurses’ perception of workplace colors. Conclusion: The study findings revealed that nurses’ perception of workplace colors partially mediated the relationship between nurses' quality of work-life and organizational commitment. Recommendations: administrators ought to focus more on organizational compliance with color semiotics to enhance nurses’ quality of life, organizational commitment, and nurses’ perceptions of workplace colors. More research is required in this field. | ||||
