| Background: The angle formed between the Sella-Nasion (SN) line and the Frankfort Horizontal plane (FH) is of great importance in cephalometric analysis and treatment planning in orthodontics, with standard references typically citing 7°. Aim & Objective: To evaluate the regional differences of SN/FH angle between patient seeking orthodontic treatment from Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study analyzed 98 lateral cephalograms of Class I patients seeking orthodontic treatment aged between 18-30 years, 45 from Upper Egypt and 53 from Lower Egypt. Measurements included ANB angle, U1-SN, U1-FH, Wits appraisal, and SN-FH angles. Statistical analyses employed paired t-tests with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: The mean SN-FH angle in Upper Egypt cases was 12.51 ± 2.97, while in Lower Egypt cases was 9.2 ± 4.35° showing statistically significant difference between Lower and Upper Egyptian populations. That was also accompanied by significant variations in U1-SN (p=0.008) and U1-FH (p=0.0006) angles without any significant results in sexual dimorphism. Conclusion: The study revealed regional anatomical differences in SN-FH cephalometric anglulation within Egyptian populations, highlighting the importance of population-specific reference values in orthodontic diagnosis to improve orthodontic outcomes. | ||
