Design: A descriptive research design was used. Setting: The study was conducted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Alexandria University Children's Hospital at El- Shatby. Subjects: A convenience sampling was used to all available neonatal nurses working in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit who were responsible for providing therapeutic hypothermia for neonates with HIE. Tool: One tool was used to collect necessary data as Nurses' Performance Regarding Therapeutic Hypothermia for Neonates with Hypoxic - Ischemic observational check list. Results: The majority of nurses (98.3%) had satisfactory performance while 1.7% of them had unsatisfactory performance regarding therapeutic hypothermia for neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the majority of nurses had satisfactory performance for neonates with HIE. Recommendations: Written guidelines about therapeutic hypothermia for neonates with HIE should be provided in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit | ||||
