| Abstract | ||
| Egypt’s container handling sector faces operational inefficiencies, outdated infrastructure, and limited digital integration. The lack of smart logistics implementation has led to increased costs, cargo delays, and reduced global competitiveness. This study explored the economic benefits of applying Logistics 4.0 in the Egyptian container handling companies especially by focusing on the Alexandria Container and Cargo Handling Company (ACCHCO). The research examined three key hypotheses: The first hypothesis examines the economic necessity of implementing Logistics 4.0 technologies in Egyptian container handling companies. The second hypothesis examines the fundamental requirements for the successful implementation of Logistics 4.0 technologies in Egyptian container handling companies. The third hypothesis examines the economic benefits of its implementation, and its economic advantages. Data were collected through electronic questionnaires distributed to 300 respondents from a sample of 350, and statistical analyses were performed using SPSS software to test these hypotheses and identify the financial implications of Logistics 4.0 adoption. The study revealed that while Logistics 4.0 technologies provide significant opportunities for improving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and competitive positioning, several challenges remain. These include high initial investment costs, infrastructure limitations, skill shortages, and cybersecurity risks. However, despite these barriers, the findings strongly support the implementation of Logistics 4.0 to enhance economic efficiency, minimize resource waste, and improve profitability in Egyptian container handling companies. The study confirms the urgent need to adopt Logistics 4.0 technologies to enhance the efficiency of container handling operations in Egyptian ports, as the current systems are outdated, inefficient, and heavily reliant on manual processes. | ||
